Wow! 🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩

Pizza can’t get much better than this. I know what you’re thinking, the cheese looks good, and it was, a delicious homemade cashew cheese that hit the spot. But for me, pizza is all about the sauce, and more

Amazing bowl full of all of my favorite green goodies and sautéed mushrooms and tomato with grilled bread! It also came with baked beans which didn’t make it into the photo. The perfect meal to start a rainy day in Bali!

Gotta say Changi Airport in Singapore 🇸🇬 has some of the world’s best airline lounge food, and Singapore Airlines goes above and beyond!

I was lucky enough to get a business class ticket to Bangkok comped for an event more

Mondelēz International, which makes popular snacks such as Oreo, Ritz Crackers, and Triscuit, paid experimenters to force-feed mice feces from obese women in support of its “healthy snacking” agenda. PETA is launching a more

alistar Ugh. Repulsive company. I will think before purchasing those brands again. 10 likesReply
danielgl Good question, @vikas!! The same dilemna exists for cosmetics that are vegan in their composition but then test on animals ... I think a good first step is what you suggested - the flagging of these items is an excellent idea, kind of like the CO2 impact that now automatically appears on some listings. And extend that to cosmetics brands as well. Like "warning: this corporation tests on animals." Though personally I think they shouldn't be part of the app - maybe a step to consider in the future?12 likesReply
agreene428 I had no idea this company was testing on animals. So heartbreaking!! I suggest removing these product reviews because they are not 100% Vegan.8 likesReply
dafnelately If we remove the product page and its reviews, nobody can stumble across it again and discover that it’s actually not vegan and it gets reviewed all over again — This has happened with several products before.

I think it’s more helpful every time someone reviews something that’s not vegan by accident, we update the product to have a “non vegan” label with a remark so people know what to look out for. This way we could even list intentionally misleading products that have “plant-based” labels but contain egg 🥚 or dairy 🥛 8 likesReply
danielgl Good point - maybe the app could flag this right away when the user types in the brand - with a pop-up message that informs the user of the company practices that prohibit it from being accepted?3 likesReply
sianski Thank you for drawing our attention to this Vikas. I value the continual update on products and their ethical status.
PETA is a rigorous organisation with animal rights at the heart of what they do. When they expose failings in industry, I believe that they’ve been very thorough in their investigation. We can act swiftly to support those findings and stop purchasing products that are shown to have used animal testing. I think we should petition companies like Mondelēz to stop animal testing.
And once you are made aware, stop buying their products until they change.

ljaerv I was already avoiding Mondelez’s products, but things like this will make sure I will never buy anything from them. Totally despicable.

Hopefully PETA will shine a bright light on what this company is doing.7 likesReply
alistar I’ve emailed the company questioning this and asking them to stop. Yuck. 7 likesReply
brtjohns Even from the human side of it, completely needless, bizarre and unjustifiable use of time and resources. Mondelez international, formerly kraft foods, owns many popular food brands including nilla wafers, oreo, ritz, tate's cookies, newtons, nutter butter, premium crackers, triscuit, tang, wheat thins, Velveeta, air crisps, chips ahoy, Teddy grahams, etc etc.
I dont know why any self respecting person with a little care in their health and wellbeing is eating this frankenfood junk anyway. It's not food. It's toxic to your gut, all bodily systems and organs.
Needless to say, it's bereft of morals and humanity to manifest lifeforms just to experiment and deny all freedoms.6 likesReply
shanna This is shocking. And extremely disappointing 5 likesReply
lowlaichow That's my issue with #accidentallyvegan products from companies - their starting point and intent can be so misaligned with the welfare of all sentient beings. 5 likesReply
chefchrissy68 Oh gosh!! Gross & unethical beyond belief! Thankfully I don’t eat or buy any of that stuff. Regardless that some may be vegan. 3 likesReply

alistar They replied to me denying that they do any animal testing or pay anyone else to do it. Hmmm. 🤔🤨1 likeReply
danielgl I saw that section on the Mondelez website, saying the same. I wonder where PETA is sourcing their information? I've received no response as of yet...Reply
danielgl I just emailed PETA asking about the source of their info. 👍1 likeReply
danielgl Just heard back from PETA, they sent an email with links to several tests from 2013 - 2022. Regarding Mondelez policy, they wrote the following:

The first paragraph of Mondelez’s policy states that they don’t contribute to animal testing when it comes to their products and ingredients. However, the second paragraph of their policy states that they allow for animal testing “when it is needed to advance fundamental knowledge in nutritional science.” The above animal tests were done for curiosity-driven “nutritional science,” and we are urging them to patch this loophole in their policy and ban all animal tests.1 likeReply
vganbeast Yikes. Imagine still doing tests on animals, that barbaric anti-scientific shit should be well and truly over by now. We don't need to force feed anyone with the feces of obese people to see if we can snack on sugary garbage in a hwalthy way! The level of corruption in the food industry is staggering.4 likesReply

danielgl I read through the first two sources that Peta referenced, and the acknowledgements of the researchers thank Mondelez Global LLC for their grants partially funding the research. That must be the loophole that PETA is referencing. Very sneaky of Mondelez!! 🤔😡2 likesReply
