zarreen Here's more good news got from Ed Winters
Smithfield meat market and Billingsgate fish market in London are set to permanently close in 2028. They are the largest markets of their kind in the UK and have been operating for 850 years.

The main reason for the closures is thought to be rising costs. However, it is hugely symbolic that such famous markets will be finally closing down. The Smithfield site will be transformed into a “mixed use cultural development,” with it becoming the new home for the Museum of London. Billingsgate is expected to make way for new homes.

The transformation of these historic sites is a powerful reminder that the future belongs to compassion, culture, and community - not cruelty.1 likeReply

I happened to read it this morning. The market is changing. I really hope plant based food is on the ascendency for good. 💚🌈Reply

I agree that comparisons are odious, but it’s difficult to avoid them when you’ve had such nice ‘tatties’ at home and in other restaurants. These spiced potatoes were underwhelming and overpriced at £9.70

This spicy mashed vegetable dish scored well for that lovely, fiery mix of hot spice. The house made buns had a brioche texture, nice and light. There was a garnish of chopped red onion. I couldn’t tell if the mashed vegetable more

A very trendy, fun restaurant, but I can’t go overboard about the food.
Okra or #ladysfinger can taste delicious. These were sliced thinly, battered and fried so, all you really taste is crispy oil.
The small bowl cost £6.95
