Italy has lots of cute, vegan/vegetarian places, and even in traditional restaurants they'll often arrange something for you. But fast foods have been pretty much vegan-free, until now.

The new "plant-based" products of more

danielgl I know for sure we have the plant-based burgers in Spain, though there was some controversy over using the same grill... Wondering if they fry these in the same oil as fries or (hopefully not) chicken products.. 2 likesReply
mchiarag They say they could be cooked in the same oil, so if that's important for you than I would suggest to avoid them! 2 likesReply

Spring is coming back and so is ice cream (and myself, since I have been going through really busy weeks). I tried this 100% vegan gelateria, and I was amazingly surprised. I only tried one flavour, cream, but it was so, more

Nothing less than 5 stars for these noodles. Hua Cheng is an incredible chinese trattoria. They have many different typical dishes, and a lot of them are vegan. The price is incredible, I paid ~4€ for one portion of noodles. more

To go on with yesterday's lunch. Again, obviously, awful packaging.
I liked these noodles less as compared to the baozi, but they were good nonetheless. The taste was pretty bland but enjoyable! I think I paid 5€ only, so more

Today I went to this little place where they mainly sell chinese street food. I have a few things to say:
- First, the reason why I doubt I'll go there again: plastic. Plastic everywhere. We sat at the table and we were more

veggieassassin It's unfortunate when establishments use too much disposable packaging. I understand it can be necessary at times but they should definitely make more of an effort 😕 The bao did look delicious at least 😋👌🏼2 likesReply

Carrefour

Whole foods, plant-based diet...

Well, I do love a little treat with white crisps sometimes! They are obviously not the best nutrion-wise, but they aren't the worst, either.

They stopped selling them at my local Carrefour more

Pangea Foods

This cheese alternative, Gargonzina, should be the soy-based version of gorgonzola (blue cheese). I have to be honest: I did not particularly enjoy the taste. It's not bad, but it's very bland.

I wouldn't eat it by itself, more

mchiarag That's exactly what I did (and I may have gotten a little bit more chili, too...) 🤭 I can post the recipe if you're interested!!1 likeReply
rikesh The recipe would be awesome thanks Maria. Feel free to message it to me on Instagram if you’re on it, i’m ‘rikeshv’ on there. Or either on here, whichever is easier😊 Can’t wait to make this! 👨🏽‍🍳 Reply
mchiarag Sorry for my late answer but it's exam season😅 I'll write it here in case anybody else interested. I promise it's really good, but I've never tried actual chili so I'm not sure that is how it's supposed to taste.

For the chili:
Heat up some oil with onions cut in medium-large chunks and finely cut garlic, and then add ~80g of soy mince. Toast them together before adding beans, I used 480gr of cooked beans. Then add tomato paste and tomato sauce. I didn't measure how much, just to cover everything nicely. Then loads of spices! I used: coffee, sumac, nutmeg, thyme, ginger, clove, cumin, cinnamon, coriander. Plus, a teaspoon of miso paste! I let it cook for about 90 minutes.

For the cauliflower nuggets:
- 1/2 cauliflower
- ~70gr of flour
- 130gr unsweetened plant milk
- 100gr breadcrumbs
- nutritional yeast
- salt

First I put every cauliflower top inside the mixture of milk and flour, and then inside the breadcrumbs and nutrional yeast. Then I put everything in the oven with a generous amount of olive oil for about 20 minutes at 180⁰C.1 likeReply
rikesh Thanks Maria for posting the recipe! Can’t wait to try it! Also, good luck for your upcoming exams!! 🙌🏽 😊 1 likeReply
