A delicious starter in a lovely pub in the heart of Guildford. As a pub, I think they were thoughtful with vegans as they offered alternative options for vegans - I have to confess that I struggle to find options in some places.

It is a great meat alternative to put in a barbecue. You will not have that feeling of “left out” in a bbq event with this burger. Lovely to have with vegan cheese and salad. I just regret not having taken the picture of it ready to show here.

Just had this amazing vegan chocolate cake at the Hideaway café. I had a mini competition with my daughter who would have the most. Simply delicious!

The cook instructions recommended to soak overnight. I didn’t have time for this ao soaked for one hour and then cooked in a pressure pan for 30 mins. It worked! After the cooking I seasoned with fried onions, coriander, tomato sauce and carrots. I used garlic flavoured olive oil for cooking. I really enjoyed it with a bit of salad and rice on the side (a good combo for having all the amino acids needed!)

I added this beautiful paste - that came from Mauritius - to a fry up that I made completely dairy free and from the local market in Guildford. Absolutely delicious! 

Fry red onions with olive oil until
brown, then add pak choi until soft, then the mushrooms. Finish off with chopped garlic and the paste! Yummy!
