This dessert was beautifully presented, but the passion fruit seemed too tart, conflicting with rich chocolate, ever so slightly, rather than complementing it. Otherwise, this dessert was nevertheless quite good.
A few comments on the different stews, based on my best guess at the ingredients, which weren’t listed on the menu:
—mushroom and spinach were rich;
—chickpeas were cinnamony; and
—lentils had a mild curry flavor with a pleasing texture.
This was a perfect use of a poured over mushroom broth, which made for a rich and breathtaking base. The interior of each dumpling perfectly balanced the greens and cashew cheese, while the dumpling texture itself absorbed more
Oh my, what a treat! The soup was thick and creamy, with a noticeable white bean taste. The puffed rice added a slight crunch that gave the soup a pleasing texture.
I sensed a chili-like zest, although I can’t pinpoint the exact source. This zestiness combined with the pomegranate for a surprising but excellent blend of flavors.
This meal is substantial and shows that the chef took care to give plant-based eaters a gourmet option. It was lentil-dense, with the textured mashed potatoes offering a creamy complement. The peas, cauliflower, and carrots more
Holy cow. This appetizer rocked my world. The breading on the broccoli and corn offered a perfect crispness, while the sweetcorn purée and pepper relish complemented one another to strike a delicious sweet and savory balance.
I always enjoy this dish, even though I’m not huge on onion, which gives the gravy a tangy flavor. The rest of the ensemble, however, makes great use of mushrooms, while the rest of the veggie ingredients had a slight crisp, more
I found the flavor sweet and not too spicy, more toward the mild side, with the coconut noticeable—which I found to be a plus. Upon first glance, I thought the tofu volume was on the lighter side, but once I dig in, I noticed more
One hyphenated descriptor sums up my experience: intensely-enjoyable. This sundae is rich—I can’t tell if the melted chocolate chips are dark chocolate, but they seem like it—to the point where every bite demands a few pauses more
