Ode to the humble tin of chick peas. If you haven’t made your own humus, I suggest doing so. Done in five minutes and to your taste. Mine is with lemon juice, tahini, cumin, paprika, salt, pepper, and olive oil and topped more
I finally did it! Gave up that last bit of dairy I had in my tea. This soya milk isn’t sweetened which for me, is a good thing. It works with black tea though so I’m happy. As an aside, I watched The Milk System on Netflix more
Oh, wow. This is fantastic. Just bought a loaf of whole wheat ciabatta and spread this beauty on it. A bit pricy at R89 for 150gr but worth it. I am so happy Spar is getting onboard with vegan cheeses. I plan to try the more

I made this great tamarind, tomato, and coconut milk-based curry with pantry staples, chick peas, frozen peas, and cauliflower. Jemz coconut products are economical. I use half a tin and the remainder will stay in the fridge more
I was stocking up on spices and came across this mix. This Biryani is a mix of fennel, cinnamon, cloves, black pepper, Star aniseed, Bay leaves, and cardamom. I used it for this butter bean, green bean, and cauliflower curry. more
Sambal Oelek is a pickled chili. I love it because it gives you a lot of chili flavour without too much heat. I’ve pretty much gone through this jar in a week. Last night I used it with this Swiss chard and cabbage vermicelli more
This stuff is great! I used it on a toasted sandwich of tomato, vegan cheese, and lentil sprouts. Definitely tasted the coriander leaf and the chili was spicy but not hot. Probably great on noodles as well. #abillionlove
Wok Time works again with their Udon noodles. Found them hiding on the bottom shelf at Spar. Reasonably priced. I just took them straight out of the packet and into the stir fry. Highly recommend. #abillionlove
