Woolworths Food

Finally, after months and months, I’m able to review the South African treats that my friend was able to bring me on her way back from SA.

This chocolate is amazing: it doesn’t taste like sugar (like Sainsburys or Morrisons) more

rikesh Lovely to see you back on here Jules! 🤗 What a thoughtful friend to bring this over for you...chocolate is always a heart-melter 🍫 💚3 likesReply
julesbateman It was on my request, but the actual items were indeed a surprise hehe 😄 chocolate is always welcome! 2 likesReply

Starbucks

Really nice oat based cold drink from Starbucks. Not overly sweet, but you can taste the vanilla flavour. Cheap and easy to find everywhere. Straw is made in paper.

Baracke

Tahini is the key ingredient for making hummus (although you can make hummus with smooth peanut or almond butter as well!) and can be quite tricky to find. Luckily my local Morrisons sells this amazing paste in the Asian more

rikesh Tahini, the secret to a hummus success! I’ve not seen this in Asda before but i’ll definitely have another look in the world food aisle again. Great value for money Jules! 🌱💪🏽1 likeReply
julesbateman Haha yes! 😋 Although I have to say that with peanut butter is a lot less bitter in flavour and more delicate, give it a shot when you feel creative! 1 likeReply
julesbateman Ps: Asda definitely has it but if I’m not wrong it costs a little bit more than Morrisons!1 likeReply

Sainsbury's

Sainsburys are really investing in vegan products and for the first time I found their tofu, which came for £1.50 only.

I’d argue that it’s “super firm” because, as a matter of fact, it’s quite spongy and crumbles very more

rikesh I still somehow haven’t tried Tofoo but definitely want to give it a go Jules, especially as i’ve not got to whip out my tofu press for it. Cauldron is my usual go-to but it’s great to see that Sainsbury’s are putting effort into their own brand version 😊1 likeReply
julesbateman I was team Cauldron before trying Tofoo 😄 it’s so much better, especially the smoked one! 1 likeReply

Galaxy

I’ve been wanting to try this chocolate bar for a while, but as I mentioned a few posts ago I did my “clean Veganuary” where no processed treats were allowed and so I didn’t buy it. Although I want to keep going with this more

rikesh Yes Jules, you finally gave in and treated yourself...which may I add is very well deserved! 🤗 I prefer the Mint flavoured Galaxy but this was nice. I have the orange flavour at home to try soon but as you say, going forward...would prefer buying the more ethical brands like vego/nomo. Also, congrats on the clean veganuary...that’s a tough one but you made it through! 💚1 likeReply
julesbateman Haha thanks! Honestly it feels so good and have to say, you also save a lot of money on vegan cheese/meat etc, which is not bad either 😊 I unfortunately hate the mint/orange + chocolate combinations, so I’m afraid I’ll never try those two 😆 every now and then in moderation, treats can’t kill you for sure 🙃1 likeReply

She Aromatherapy

I got this body butter from TK Maxx months ago and there’s still a good amount of product in the jar. It’s really really thick (because of shea butter) so you don’t need much to moisturise your skin!

The smell is pleasant, more

rikesh A bit of a hidden gem finding this body butter in TK Maxx of all places! I’m glad this works well for your skin Jules AND a bonus that it’s vegan & cruelty-free 💪🏽🌱2 likesReply
julesbateman To be honest TK Maxx is the best place to find organic, natural & cruelty-free body/skin/haircare products in the whole country! Things that Holland & Barrett would sell for £8 you can find them at TKM for £4, same quality, same products. All my products are natural & organic, so now that TKM are closed I’m quite desperate! I strongly recommend you to look for personal hygiene products there, it’s a bargain! 😄Reply
rikesh Nice, thanks Jules..I’ll definitely take a look when TKM opens back up! 😊 Reply

ASDA

When I got this can of banana blossom from Asda I was not sure of what to do with it. I had banana blossom in a burger in 2019 but couldn’t remember what it tasted like... only thing I knew was it’s mainly used to replace more

rikesh What an incredible photo Jules! Photography skills are level 💯! Also, I never knew that Asda sold Banana Blossom. I’m the same as you, i’ve only had it as a burger at a restaurant but never used the ingredient myself. Your burgers look fab. Definitely going to pick up a can and get my chef hat on soon! 👨🏽‍🍳 💚1 likeReply
julesbateman Haha thank you Rikesh! Very kind ☺️ I like having a little creative challenge in my kitchen. The can comes for a really cheap price, but I do understand why they make you pay £9.90 when you get the dish in a restaurant, I took 1 hour and a half for the prep 😂 give it a shot, it’s a bargain! 🍌1 likeReply

Coop

Possibly my favourite non-natural deodorant (you can clearly spot a silicon as its second ingredient...) for when you’re really in need. I used to keep one can in the office because you never know 🙄

It comes for £1 and more

Clarks

This is my favourite agave syrup, not because it tastes better but because it costs 50p less than Groovy Foods 😂 Not everywhere though! I can find it for £2 instead of 2.50 only at Sainsburys. Asda, for instance, sell it more
