I can't believe I haven't posted about this cheese. My heart. My soul. My lifeline. The 🐐. Whenever anyone asks me what the best vegan cheese is, I always have to mention this (along with applewood) because it's just so good! It's a perfect parmesan replacement #lidl #veganparmesan
I admit Lidl was the last place I expected to find a vegan food range and was overwhelmed with excitement seeing so many vegan products and this one was perfect for my vegan dish. I used the vegan mince from the range and sprinkled the parmesan over the top. Tastes great and really was the perfect finish to an Italian dish I love. Lidl now has a faithful customer and walking out with two bags full were like having Christmas early superior quality products
I wanted to try it despite the plastic appearance but I was a bit disappointed. It smells like cheese but it tastes a lot like coconut fat. When open, it tends to dry out very quickly and it becomes crumbly and difficult to grate. I won't buy it again, despite the good price.
This was alright. Personally, I didn't find it to be too parmesan-like in terms of both taste and texture, other than the fact that it was finely grated...but it's nice on pasta. At least it's affordable.
Popped some of this grated goodness on my vegan lasagne last night and boom! Really great flavour and melted nicely. Loads in the packet so great value for money!
