One positive thing about algorithms…if you are obsessed with animal sanctuaries, they will keep supplying you with more. It’s very heartening to see what caring people around the world are striving for - rescuing animals and becoming vegan.
Read below for inspirational acts from the founder of Rowdy Girl Sanctuary:
‘Sugar and spice and everything nice exemplifies our Cinnamon girl. She is so gentle and sweet, we feel comfortable having her as an up close and personal ambassador to our visitors, even as young as bitty babies as you can see in the carousel! She’s just such a love with a quiet dignity and beauty to match! Cinnamon used to live on a breeding facility in Texas - until she developed a cyst on her ovary and could no longer bear children. She was then summarily deemed useless to the ranch and scheduled to be slaughtered. Can you imagine? Our sweet, beautiful, wouldn’t-hurt-a-fly Cinnamon, killed because she couldn’t have kids? We rescued her the very weekend she was supposed to be killed because her caretakers saw a story about us on ABC 13 Houston News. THANK GOD! So grateful to the power of the media to spread our message and reach the people who need to hear it. Cinnamon has had her fair share of troubles including medical issues that would be SO much easier to treat if we had our Medical Treatment Facility totally built and ready to go. Her vet care and regular care costs are significant - $95 in the month of July - so if you want to help us care for Cinnamon, you can virtually adopt her at https://buff.ly/4gw7LZ5 🔗 In doing so, you will receive a digital certificate with a photo of Cinnamon and a range of other perks depending on the level you choose. Virtual adoption really helps keep our sanctuary strong and makes a great gift! 🎁 Our sweet Cinnamon girl will appreciate it so much.

As a former cattle rancher, I now recognize the betrayal my husband Tommy and I caused time and time again. My vegan awakening opened my eyes to see the cows not as property, but as individuals, deserving of love and respect. I learned the true meaning of compassion—how to show it not just to the animals on our ranch, but to all sentient beings.
So, I transitioned our beef cattle ranch into Rowdy Girl Sanctuary—the first Texas beef cattle ranch to go vegan and become a safe haven for farmed animals. What was once a place of exploitation is now a refuge of compassion, where the animals are treated with the respect and dignity they deserve.’
