MOD Santorini: The vegan paradise you didn't know you needed

Welcome to Mod Santorini, the first vegan accommodation on the island in Greece!

Santorini—a place of iconic sunsets, whitewashed buildings, and now, a vegan haven that’s redefining what it means to travel sustainably. Meet MOD Santorini, the brainchild of a love story between a local islander and a Greek-Australian who together created something truly magical.

We are Anargyros, Christina and a small team behind the creation of MOD which denotes “Made of Dreams”. Before we show you around the island, let us tell you a little bit about us.

The story begins with Anargyros, born and raised in Santorini, and Christina, a Melbourne native with deep Greek roots (fun fact: Melbourne has the second-largest Greek population outside Athens). We met during Christina’s summer vacation in 2018, fell in love, and within months, Christina packed her bags and moved to Santorini. In 2019, our dream project was born: MOD Santorini, a boutique vegan hotel designed for those who want to experience the island’s charm with a modern, vegan twist.

But MOD is more than just a hotel—it's a resurrection. The property once belonged to Anargyros’s family, and after being closed down in the early 2000s, it had always been his dream to bring it back to life. Together, we took on the challenge of turning the old family hotel into a chic, modern escape that reflects their shared passion for veganism, sustainability, and local culture.

Located in Firostefani, a peaceful village just on the outskirts of the main town Fira, MOD offers six beautifully designed suites (with plans for more in the future) that blend minimalistic Greek aesthetics with modern comfort. But what really sets MOD apart is its culinary experience. The hotel’s vegan chef, Manos Englezos, creates dishes that are as nourishing as they are delicious, with a focus on authentic Greek cuisine—proving that going vegan doesn’t mean sacrificing flavor or tradition.

Whether you’re lounging by the pool, indulging in a vegan feast, or exploring the cobblestone streets of Santorini, MOD promises a vacation that’s equal parts rejuvenating and unforgettable.

Ready to experience vegan hospitality at its finest? MOD Santorini is waiting for you.
