How is life of any relevance when discussing rights? Plants are alive. Bacteria are alive. Protista are alive. Did humans allocate any rights to them? Do vegans even advocate for their rights? Nope. So how is it that a ball of cells with no sentience should somehow have rights just because the cells happens to belong to a potential human? Why are we advocating for giving that ball of cells that has no emotions or capability for pain more rights than a sentient woman's comfort, health (both physical and mental), and possibly even the life that they value?

Life is NOT sacred and thinking that it is sacred is purely based on backwards religious sentiment. Instead, SENTIENT life is sacred, as sentient life has the ability to experience emotions and pain. Until the stage that they have a developed brain, foetuses are not remotely sentient and are worthy of about as much consideration of a house plant. Especially when considering them would come at the huge expense of an actually sentient woman.2 likesReply
