Review of Maggi Goreng Vegetarian at KSB Nur (Lebuh Pantai) by dafnelately
Vegetarian gourmet #instantnoodles from the legendary Abu Mamak đ These brothers are Penang #hawker legends and have been a staple of my night-life in Penang â That is, until I went vegan đ±
Oh, and #covid19 happened and they changed places twice âïž
If you know anything about Malaysia foodie culture itâs that we love a good #supper at a #mamak đČđŸ This place is known for their insanely appetising, though unfortunately non-vegan, Maggi #tomyam đż The boss is really friendly and when asked if I could have it #veganized he explained that the #tomyum paste they use has shrimp in it & even allowed me to inspect it for myself. Incredibly accommodating! That said, I have attempted (and I would say successfully) recreated it myself by hacking another #accidentallyvegan product by Maggi đ https://www.abillion.com/products/maggi-tom-yum-kaw-10584646 đ
Thatâs how we settled on this! He somehow just knew that Maggi Kari https://www.abillion.com/products/maggi-instant-noodles-perisa-kari-10194045 was vegan and offered to just make a #veganized #meegoreng đ€ I actually donât know whatâs different from the original. It might just be the same đ€
Iâve been avoiding Maggi Kari since I was stuck quarantining with my sister in #langkawi and it was the only thing I could get đ„± This finally broke that spell for me! They really work magic into their dishes âš The texture is this nice balance between soggy and chewy, itâs just so lovely đ
Theyâve got other #veganfriendly dishes and are more than willing to accommodate. I hope you donât mind the odd chance of cross-contamination though đ€ Maybe one day vegan #mamak stores can be a thing!
