A coconut milk pudding topped with rose syrup, desiccated coconut and peanuts. It’s sweet of course and creamy, but no ingredient overwhelms the others so it still feels relatively refreshing and light in flavour. First more
Dry noodles topped with mock char siew, fried beancurd skin, bean sprouts, bok choy, and green chillis. Good portions of everything, flavourful chilli, and flavourful soup broth on the side. $4, no complaints.
Found a vegan-friendly stall here called Bussorah on the lower floor, and it’s open for dinner! Looks like most dishes can be made vegan, and the uncle can add tofu to replace meat and seafood :) he’s very sweet and double more
Really cool to have omnimeat dishes at NTU for veganuary! Was a good opportunity to try the luncheon meat, fish fillet and crab cake at the vegetarian stall, with mayo drizzled on top and served with bee hoon and beans. more
Not too much to say here. They’re filled with mixed grated veg. The skin is nicely thin and crispy, and the filling makes it feel lighter despite being a fried snack. A bit bland though.
I think I have a new favourite dish here. It had strips of some kind of root vegetable that I didn’t recognise (yam?), spinach, chestnuts, mushroom, dates (that I had as “dessert” at the end), and I think a soy mock meat more
This was okay. The end pieces of the chicken (made with rolled beancurd skin) were really nice and crispy, but overall it was a bit soggy and oddly sweet. No savoury broth or chilli to cut through the sweetness unfortunately.
Ordered without crema to veganise it (but also double check with the staff in case the recipe changes).
The burrito was good overall and very light. A bit dry as there was no dressing, but the rice was fluffy and the impossible more
Really impressed by this! The rice itself is seasoned with thunder tea paste, not just the filling, and it’s quite flavourful. The filling also adds good texture with soft tofu, long beans and crunchy peanuts :) makes for more
Flavourful yet lighter and less oily than other stalls. Also quite cheap! It was $4.20 for brown rice with rajma, string beans, spinach, pakoras and sambar.
