Review of Cheeze & Pickle Sandwich - Smiths Family Kitchen by emsieee
I really enjoyed this cheeze and pickle sandwich which I bought from WH Smiths in Crewe train station.
I don't usually like cheese alternatives much but the 'coconut oil block' in this sandwich really worked. It gave a cheese-like texture, but wasn't strongly flavoured so I was able to appreciate the tangy pickle, crispy lettuce and juicy tomato. The bread was soft and fresh too. Not bad for a train station option!
The sandwich was priced at £4 but available as part of a meal deal with crisps and drink for £5.99. That's still not cheap but you do tend to pay a premium for food while you're travelling. I was mostly just happy to find something tasty and vegan!
