Review of Grilled Eggplant at Jia Xiang Xiao Chu 16 家乡小厨16店 by tabs

This is made v similar to the soft bbq stingray but now you get a veg version made w eggplant! This comparison was made by my non-veg dining companions and it was so tasty they picked off every last bit of the sauce.
Has a soft chewy texture, & since sauce is more external, the eggplant flesh itself can be quite healthy ‘clean’. Just scrape of the sauce if you want less flavour etc.
They have other eggplant dishes but major BIG BIG LOVE goes to their deep fried crisp eggplant dish!!! Which is accompanied w a wonderful tomato-ey, sweet, plum, slightly spiced flavour. That has no meat but Unfortunately, can’t review bc I belatedly found out the sauce includes fish sauce 😕
