Review of Fruta Guanábana Pulp - Goya by kyu
First time trying #soursop! — albeit in a #frozen, pulped format. I recently discovered these tropical #fruit blocks, and though it’s not my preferred mode, they do come in handy when the fresh fruit in question is hard to find and/or prohibitively expensive. So far, I’ve enjoyed it as a frozen, granita-style dessert and in a beverage with some sparkling water. I really appreciate that there’s #noaddedsugar, which allows the tart and refreshing fruit flavor to take center stage.
I’m not entirely sure how to describe what it tastes like, but the internet’s assessment of strawberry and apple flavors strikes me as apt. It’s somewhat acidic, but nowhere near as puckery as the name, “soursop,” led me to believe. I cannot find the receipt, but I’m confident that it was between $5 and 6 at Cardenas. Looking online, that seems to be on the high end of this product’s price range, though it’s not too bad — it’s a cost I can shoulder to indulge the occasional “interesting fruit” whim. #veganisnotscary
I don’t know why but every time I read or hear guanabana I get Mahna Mahna in my head except they’re singing “guanabana”
