Review of Vegetarian Lobster - Yi Dah Xing by dafnelately
No Ploom no!! π± Itβs not what it looks like! π I swear Iβd never hurt an animal π
β¦is something I should have said longer ago π We think we may have it hard, but every day millions of animals are murdered for our greed when many of us already live in an age of excess π There is an undeniable cultural aspect to food & especially the consumption and/or appearance of certain foods. Thatβs why I think #fakemeat is a great stepping stone for those looking to make the switch π€ In fact there is a long rooted history of the practice in China owing to Buddhist monks https://www.vice.com/en/article/8xyqqz/the-origins-of-fake-meat-are-rooted-in-chinese-cooking πͺ·
This definitely looks the part from the outside, even if doesnβt try to be a perfect copy, but how does it taste? Not bad actually! I was expecting gluten or seitan given the texture of lobster but they actually use #texturedvegetableprotein / #tvp instead here! π¦ As such it is a little more chewy than expected, but it tasted just as tasteless as #lobster anyways π€·ββοΈ Why do we feel the urge to murder such cool animals again?
None of that matters though; Pick compassion the next time you shop π It would make Ploom the isopod uber happy!
