Review of Braised beef flavor ramen - Chef Woo by kyu
Nostalgia in a cup! This #ramen reminds me so much of the classic cup #noodles that I used to enjoy as an after-school snack, only a bit less junky and all vegan! This was a thoughtful gift from @beckyyy, and a lifesaver on a day when I needed a quick, fuss-free, #lazyvegan lunch. I followed the kettle directions, which couldn’t have been simpler — just add boiling water.
The #organic noodles impressed me. They contain a whopping 20g of #protein (roughly equivalent to half a block of tofu!,) and I think that this protein content helped to keep them al dente. They didn’t have any discernible aftertaste, either. I dislike mushy noodles and used to scald myself trying to finish them before they could reach that soggy state; these held their own a lot better and allowed me to enjoy a more leisurely meal. I’m not sure that the broth really tasted like beef; it was mostly salty. Like must cup noodles, it has a lot of sodium, but I rarely drink the soup, so I’m not too concerned. It features a nice variety of dehydrated vegetables, too, with bell pepper in addition to the usual suspects of peas, corn, and carrots.
I’m not sure these are my favorite instant noodles (I’m inexplicably partial to the Nongshim soon veggie cups,) but this protein-rich option is definitely a solid, classic-tasting contender with something a bit unique to offer. I’m so glad I was able to try them (thank you again, @beckyyy, #veganisnotscary at all when you have wonderful friends like these!)
