Review of Israeli couscous - Trader Joe's by kyu
It’s the same product as before, but the name has been changed (from Israeli to Pearled Couscous) and the little cellophane window in the box has been eliminated. I really like this chewy little #pasta; it’s so perfect for hot or cold salads. One of my favorite low-effort (#lazyvegan) recipes involves simmering a cup of couscous/ptitim in vegetable broth until all of the liquid is absorbed, then mixing it with half a can of Trader Joe’s Greek Chickpeas with Parsley & Cumin — the richly seasoned olive oil provides an amazing boost of flavor. This time, I also added arugula, sugar snap peas, and homegrown cherry tomatoes; you could throw in anything from olives to vegan feta to grilled vegetables and end up with an amazing-tasting dish. #carbsforlife
Super affordable (I think a box is something like $2,) quick-cooking, and keeps nicely for meal prep — what’s not to love? I highly recommend giving it a try.
