While in Ottawa, I visited an Independent’s grocery store to pick up a few items. One of them was arugula to top off a pizza.

Usually arugula is used in a salad, but my preferred use for it is to add it to a freshly cooked pizza. I first experienced / saw this at a restaurant in Port Credit. Needless to say, I was blown away, so I now do this whenever I make pizza at home or at a friend’s place.

This arugula was incredibly fresh. It’s unique peppery taste is polarizing - you either love it or hate it. We’ll, I love it!! So does my friend; this was her first time doing this. I think she too is hooked on the idea.

Who says a vegan pizza has to be boring?

I’d buy this brand if arugula again. I just wish the packaging (plastic) was substituted for something more sustainable and environmentally friendly.
