Review of Soybean & Hijiki Musubi at Musubi Café Iyasume by kyu
Probably my favorite of all the musubi I bought from this shop, and easily the most filling! There was a generous amount of firm, seasoned #edamame and crunchy hijiki #seaweed scattered throughout the rice ball, which made it quite satisfying to eat (unlike other musubi, which can start to feel monotonously rice-y after a few bites!) I would definitely get this one again; it provided a great boost of energy after a swim.
That being said, at $2.88, this musubi was unfortunately more expensive than several of the fish-containing rice balls. Overall, it’s still not a bad deal considering the generally high prices in Waikiki, but I feel it’s a shame for something like this to cost more than foods made with cruelty, the harms of which certainly aren’t adequately accounted for.
