VEGAN

United Airlines

Flew United Airlines from IAD to LHR in premium economy. They try to jazz it up as Premium Plus but it's more like economy plus than business minus. As far as I could tell they serve economy food in Polaris tableware and charge you almost double the fare ๐Ÿ™„ It's not just the vegan option either; the passenger next to me was complaining about how the short ribs were the toughest he had ever eaten. I guess United are just bad at everything ๐Ÿ˜’

Dinner consisted of a rice dish for mains, with a vegetable curry and a dhal. Those were passable, but the rice they used was so cheap and thin and low-quality that it hardened up when heated. The breakfast consisted of sloppily plated oat with fruits (which I never eat because I hate soggy food ๐Ÿ˜”). Both meals included a bread roll with a tonne of listed chemicals. I don't know why they even bother with the second meal on a 7-hour red-eye flight; just scrap it and let us sleep? ๐Ÿฅบ

Decent sourcing of vegan products to complete the tray (see subsequent reviews), but they also offered a pad of dairy butter which is unacceptable #dobetter ๐Ÿ˜’

unejanieย makes me so look forward to flying. I wrote to Southwest after traveling in july commenting on their complete lack of anything vegan on their flights. The reply was I was welcome to bring my own food.1 likeReply
