Review of Beyond Burger Plant-Based Patties - Beyond Meat by ecobunny

One of the very best meat alternatives here in South Africa, although the flavour can tend towards the spammy side. The texture, if I remember, is on point but better in my opinion than flesh because that used to get stuck in my teeth (horrible when you think about it). The down side is the nutritional content, as it's extremely high in fat. No need to use any in cooking these - they literally oooze in the pan. The packaging is fine, and the price is very high for these. At the time of posting this 2 burger packet cost R109. If I recall, 4 used to cost R124. These were bought from Woolworths, so I guess if you consider that bought from a restaurant 1 will cost the same amount in Johannesburg at least, it's a saving. In any case, my folks loved them, and have asked to have 3 "veggie" meals a week, which is cool. #veganisnotscary
