Review of Hot Tomato Chutney - Beerenberg by stevenneoh

Tastes a bit like a #tomato based pasta sauce, but with a bit more concentration if not thickness. There's definitely more than just tomato - the label also shows a whole ton of other things from chilli and mustard to garlic and onion, and it certainly tastes quite complex 🙂

What I'm not sure I agree with is the claim that this goes well with cheeses or meats. Maybe it's me, but I don't like the sauce/relish to compete with the main item for flavour. This might actually be better as a sauce for pasta or rice 🤨

On this occasion I used the #chutney as a spread for the rye bread I had on my savoury board. Really would have preferred a simpler flavour 😕 (like the sweet chilli relish from the same brand, which is superb) Perhaps just a personal preference 🙂
