Can I just say how I hate it when people make tins without ring tabs for ease of opening? 😡 I cut my finger larking about with a stupid tin opener.

Anyway, these crushed #tomatoes were acidic, perhaps overly so for my tastebuds in the absence of genuine meat in my #ragu 😕 They were also rather moist, which meant a longer cooking time, which was fine I guess 😐

The second picture shows the end product. The original contents of this tin were a lot redder; the tones had been softened in the final dish by the use of mylk and by the bechamel.
