Review of Baked Chewy Bars - caramel chocolate chip - Simply Nature by glutenfreevee

Saw these as an Aldi Finds and was intrigued by the packaging. Caramel and chocolate chip together in a bar. They were $2.99 for a box of five, and I decided that to try it once wouldn’t be a big deal.

Anyway, when I opened the wrapper, I was shook. It was so small! Like maybe 2” (or about 5cm, if you’re reading from a metric-country). Most bars here are bigger than this.

The taste was nice. I could pick up the caramel and chocolate in the bar, however, there was a taste/texture I was experiencing that was just too familiar to me. They were definitely chewy, which was good. Finally it hit me, Enjoy Life brand snacks have this same taste/texture. It’s a bit hard to explain but it just sits a bit funny to me. You would know if you’ve ever had them.

I googled the brand and found that their caramel blondies baked chewy bars have the exact same ingredients and almost similar nutritional facts (see below). Same certifications and Free from 14.

Nutritionally these bars differed only slightly from Enjoy Life’s bars. These have 140 calories while theirs say 160. These have 7g of fat and 17g of carbohydrates, while theirs have 8g and 18g, respectively. Both, however, have 2g of protein.

Knowing that these are likely from Enjoy Life, as I’m not such a huge fan, I wouldn’t purchase them again. They are okay. But if you do like Enjoy Life, look out for these at Aldi.
