abillion commits $1 million to Save Vegan Restaurants in the United States

The vegan restaurant sector in the United States has had a really tough time. We recently published survey results that found that nearly 64% of businesses saw a loss in revenue during the pandemic. One-third of vegan restaurants surveyed said they were in danger of closing.

Your reviews can save vegan restaurants in the USA.

In partnership with We Are Impactors, Million Dollar Vegan and several vegan influencers, we have launched #SaveVeganRestaurants, a campaign to call out, recommend, and support the vegan restaurant industry in America.

#SaveVeganRestaurants supporter and vegan celebrity Mayim Bialik, who played Amy Farrah Fowler on The Big Bang Theory, has shared that her favorite vegan restaurant, Leonor's Restaurant, is on the verge of closing down due to the pandemic. Bialik and other prominent celebrities like Daniella Monet, Sophia Esperanza, Amanda Le, Eddie Garza, and David Carter have joined us in spreading awareness to save and support their favorite vegan restaurants, including Seasoned Vegan, Lettuce Feast, Pura Vita and Rebel Cheese.

As part of this initiative, abillion is committing $1M to a new Save Vegan Restaurants fund. With each review you post, we allocate $1 that you can use to donate to any one of the 65 impactful causes on our platform. Now, when making your donation, you can choose the Save Vegan Restaurants fund. The fund will be available in the drop-down list of charities within the app.

We’ll keep this fund open for 12 months, from April 2021. At the end of each month, we’ll distribute the donations to all participating restaurants in proportion to the reviews generated. As mentioned, we’ve allocated $1 million to this fund, so we challenge you and every other member to post a million reviews over the next 12 months so that we can donate the entire fund to restaurants in need.

To enroll a restaurant into this fund, you simply need to review a dish at the restaurant and include #SaveVeganRestaurants in your post. For a restaurant, it needs to be a vegan restaurant that has claimed its listing on our platform. Restaurateurs can do that for free here.
