Review of Tocino - Lightlife by ruckus
It’s not bad. Crunchy, salty and has a decent flavor, but I believe there are better alternatives. It just doesn’t have much bite to it, it’s pretty thin. Arguably you can say the same for bacon, but I’m really looking for tasty food, not meat substitutes.
Say it didn’t taste like bacon and just tasted like something none meat at all, but was flavorful and had a nice bite to it, I would gladly have more of it! I absolutely love seitan and soya chunks. Both, if prepared and seasoned right, are the cream of the crop! My favorite seitan brand and product at the moment is SweetEarth Chickn, and Gardein soya chunks. Both I will absolutely be reviewing in the future.
As for this, if you don’t see anything else on the shelf, it’s still worth it if you’re looking for something crispy for a change. Goes well in salads too. Price, like all vegan food, should be better to entice more people to switch. #SubsidizeVeganBrands like our taxes do with animal flesh.
