I purchased this at Woolworths , Mall of the South. It was great value for
money because it was on special over a week ago. I was excited to try a vegan spread as so much of a comparative range of non-vegan food products , have not been caught up on the vegan side in South Africa as this market grows and catches up. Being a fussy food lover , for me this product taste wise as is. It has been highly recommended by others who simply love it . I found it to be too sweet and tasted like a super sweet icing in tub firm punted as a spread. I could not eat it by itself so I adapted it to suit my palette. I created my own spread used in a sandwich whereby I combined a few items with a thin sliver cut out of this tub brick version. I used vegan Trim mayo and Smoked Chipotle sauce combined and mixed well to be used as a spread. On its own I did pick up faint herbaceous notes similar to rosemary. I would say my resourcefulness saved this product for me. I also adapted it into an icing for red velvet cupcakes which sadly I forgot to photograph. It does work but the consistency is a bit runny. And I intend to finish this product using it as a butter /shortening alternative for scones. Let’s see where this leads in terms of its adaptability. This is what I believe is the saving grace of this product that one’s imagination can be free to use it in different ways apart from its original intended purpose.I recommend that one considers carefully when buying it in consideration of finishing the product and not throwing it away if found to be not to personal taste.
