Chickpeas in Brine

These chickpeas are tasty, convenient and versatile. They are in brine so I found there was no need to add extra salt when using them in hummus or a curry.

These are delicious fried with garlic and chili and salt and served as a snack. In fact they are good for everything.

Chickpeas and I have a great relationship! They have sooo many uses, sweet and savoury.. Great in salads, roasted, covered in chocolate😍 AND the water aka aquafaba can be whipped up to substitute egg white in baking, chocolate mousse or even vegan butter! So a great tip is to use the whole contents of the can, don't throw the water away!🥰

If you're going to go for tinned chickpeas, Woolworths have never let me down. The brine isn't thick and while is like the chickpeas to be bigger, they are always bright and as fresh as tinned food gets. Price is high (+/-R20) but common now.

I really love the woolies canned chickpeas. Guaranteed great chickpeas.
