Joe' Kurt natural

A new product now available at Checkers, available in other flavours as well. While this says sweetened on the front, it doesn’t taste like it at all. It is even more sour than plain yogurt (so would be great to use with fruits for breakfast as well as in savoury dishes). Has the same consistency as greek yogurt. Fortified with calcium (300 mg per 250 g) which is brilliant and on par with the calcium content of regular yogurt, B12, B2 and Vit D. It is R89 for 1 litre (for reference: Woolies Cultured Soya is R39,99 for 500 g and Cultured Coconut is R72,99 for 500 g). A really exciting product for us SA vegans.

I usually use it to make burek with tofu, but it's also good on its own. It lasts long in the fridge, and it's a good size.

This “natural” flavour definitely has more of a tang to it than the vanilla - probably because it has about a seventh of the sugar 😂 but I enjoyed it a lot and will likely get again. #yoghurt #yogurt #veganyogurt #almondyoghurt #plainyoghurt

Lucky enough to find this on sale! Checkers had it marked for R79, on sale for 59! Still too pricey but nice as a treat
I thought it tasted lovely with fresh fruit and homemade granola
I’ll keep an eye out for more sales

Soygurt is my fave food so i have to say this doesnt quite measure up. The texture is just not as rich and creamy but its been good with a bit of soy protein powder mixed in or as a savoury sauce. Price is cheaper than soygurt too so will keep buying this occasionally
