Just pop it straight into oil, fry it up with some Cajun or chicken spice (roberstons chicken spice is vegan friendly) and you have a yummy southern coating style crispy deliciousness that is far better than a 'bucket' of pain if you know what I mean. I am not a fan of faux meat products that smell or taste like meat so this suits me perfectly. It's got great texture, and is well-suited to making a lovely curry.
I found this in our local Indian spice shop. I was thinking for a while what to make out of it and I settled on butter chicken.
The strips were easy to marinade and absorbed flavour very well. It was very easy and quick to fry it before adding it to the sauce.
Overall, hubby said this was the best butter chicken he ever had and I also enjoyed it quite a bit.
I don’t remember its price, but I can’t imagine it was expensive. It’s freezer friendly.
I would buy it again.
Not sure if it tastes like chicken but this is pretty great when marinated and put in a stir fry. However, the texture is a bit too stringy for my tastes.
