A scoop of boldness was served, and weβre here for it π«‘!
At the 40th annual Capitol Hill Ice Cream Party this June, hosted by the International Dairy Foods Association (IDFA) things got unexpectedly cool when Oatly crashed the scene.
The IDFA has been throwing the free ice cream event for food and agriculture professionals since 1983. β Over the past eight years, Big Dairy has spent nearly $2 billion on marketing and lobbying. In spite of that, vegan mylks have grown into a nearly $3 billion business in the U.S., according to a report from GFI and Spins.
Setting up their βDairy Deprogramming Zoneβ right across the street, Oatly brought their delicious plant-based soft serve to the mix, sparking a much-needed conversation about the climate crisis and the dairy industryβs impact. The production of one gallon of milk in the US requires 144 gallons of water β 93% of this water is used to grow feed for cows π€―.
OatlyΒ doesnβt mind getting the cold shoulder from Big Dairy, and frankly, many more brands should get inspired in their own ways.
What's your favorite Oatly product?
