Review of Kachumber salad at Masala Dosa Street Kitchen by david-
Their #website says: #Kachumber is a #salad dish in #Indian cuisine consisting of fresh chopped #Tomatoes, #Cucumbers, #Carrots, #Onions, #Lemon juice & #Coriander.
Writing this #review and looking back at the pictures, I realize there were no carrots in my salad lol 🥗 Nevertheless it was tasty. Fresh #veggies and #herbs 🌿, topped with some black #salt, which gave a nice and unusual taste (eggy, sulfuric)

sunshineyum Traditional #kachumber has no carrot - it is simply (and deliciously) a chopped coupling of onion, green chillies, tomato and cucumber in a hit of vinegar sprinkled with kala namak (or, if not available, then salt and black pepper). I loved being the one to prep this side alongside my mum for our curries as a child - the fresh flavours bring out such depth on the tongue! As for carrot, modern curry outlets serve a small "salad" made of grated carrot, with a sliver or two of onion and cucumber with curries and bunny chows. No contest. Reply
david- Then I’d say their website is wrong and this was indeed the correct dish yay. It has everything you described! The kala namak was great on itReply
