VEGAN

WhatIF Foods

This legume-derived milk is the light version of the Everyday variety I reviewed previously (purple carton,) with the thinner consistency and milder taste that comes with a more dilute product. Airy gets you less bamnut for your buck, but in this case I didn’t mind: it wasn’t too watery, and the earthy pungency of the groundnut was tempered to a tolerable level. I was able to drink this one on its own.

As with the Everyday milk, it’s a good source of essential vitamins and minerals that vegans need to thrive. I also appreciate WhatIF’s commitment to regenerative practices for people and the planet (their use of the conditional drives me a little crazy, but I can overlook that.)

Given its aftertaste and dark color, this isn’t the most versatile milk on the market, but my preference would be for Airy if repurchasing. It’s always so cool to see new #ditchdairy alternatives — hopefully each one is another nail in the coffin for a senselessly brutal industry that shouldn’t exist. #cowmilkisforcalves
