Nature's Charm

Oh my days, I swear my life is complete 😌 Though these days I'm hardcore #teamblackcoffee, having #condensedmilk in it takes me back to the innocence of childhood kopitiam runs, or to the catharsis of colleague/company bitching sessions with the likes of @dafnelately 😏 Granted, condensed #oatmilk is slightly different in flavour from what dairy would be, and I used straight-up ground coffee beans, rather than the local butter-roasted coffee from places like my grandfather's factory, but still, this was soothing for the soul ☺️

I don't know what planet they are living on when they declare this to be 8 servings' worth 🤨 I had a quantity probably closer to a twentieth, and it already made my coffee too sweet. Too sweet. For *me* and my #sweettooth 😬 #ditchdairy 💪

dafnelately Those days are long gone, sadly and thankfully 😗2 likesReply
dafnelately Also, do you mean to say that even Kopi O isn’t necessarily vegan? 😨 Butter roasted?? 1 likeReply
stevenneoh Depends on the manufacturing facility where they grind the beans into powder for wholesale. My granddad's formula involved butter roasting for aroma, so in that case it wouldn't be vegan 😐1 likeReply
dafnelately RIP 🪦 No more black coffee in kopitiams for me 😢1 likeReply
stevenneoh Just asked one of my older relatives who took over (and ruined) said family business - some manufacturers do roast the beans in plant-based margarine or even peanut oil. I think this has very much been a matter of *hinge* personal preference 😏1 likeReply
lol1409 Is this a thing? 😨 Condensed milk in coffee?3 likesReply
stevenneoh It is here! Condensed milk is really sweet and creamy so it does something much more special to coffee than what milk and sugar separately would do 😛3 likesReply
lol1409 This sounds illegal and I must try it immediately. I have to make the condensed milk though 😑 On the bright side, it's easy af. On the not-so-bright side, cashews and kidneys can't seem to co-exist around here. 3 likesReply
stevenneoh You know how to *make* condensed milk? 😲😲 Respect!3 likesReply
lol1409 Of course you can dress it up but you just have to make some sugar syrup (boil sugar+water until it's stringy) and pour in some slightly thick (homemade 😃) cashew milk. Which I usually only make for ice-cream 😏. Someone give me a PhD already, I could use a few more advanced degrees to let hibernate in a cupboard somewhere. 5 likesReply
stevenneoh Hibernate alongside the mounds of unwanted single-use plastic items? Surely it would deserve a better fate 😕1 likeReply
lol1409 I am very sure that's what they're made for here.1 likeReply
lauraspaanse In Spain they call to this type of coffee “café bombón “ and in the canary island they add a bit of licor 43 and calle ir Barraquito 💚2 likesReply
lol1409 1:1 ratio of espresso and condensed milk? Looks very very sweet 😳😳☕ Maybe the liquor helps? Even licor 43 seems very flavourful alone🍾2 likesReply
lauraspaanse I have one like this ( I’m keeping it for my last week here in NL ) ; but after read for review … I need to open it hahaha 🥺😜3 likesReply
stevenneoh Bon appetit! 😉1 likeReply
waisum 😭 OMG HOT PLAIN CONDENSED MILK WAS MY CHILDHOOD BREAKFAST DRINK (and dunking those square butter crackers in them heavennn) 2 likesReply
stevenneoh Huh seriously that's a thing?! 😱Reply
