One of the more affordable vegan cheeses at the local supermarket. $8.95 for 200g. If I needed to be absolutely picky about this product, it would hafta be that Emborg’s main business is still in dairy products. So, not entirely happy with that and not sure yet if I’d be fully supportive of a business that does both dairy and vegan products. But i guess it’s a start in the right direction. P.S: my kids still much prefer Violife cheeses.

ziokendo If you allow me to offer a different perspective: business are there to satisfy demand - as long as there’s demand for dairy there will be offer - if they stop selling dairy and send 90% of their employee home some other dairy brand will pickup the slack. They could have created a new brand and few would now about the ultimate shareholder, Instead by leveraging on their existing brand and supermarket network they can offer a lower price and help slowly shape a new customer preference that ultimately will result anyway in advantages for the environment (less animal cruelty, antibiotics, hormones, methane).1 likeReply
