Review of Cherry Chip Cake Mix - Betty Crocker by emberattack
As far as I know, almost if not all the Betty Crocker cake mixes are vegan! The instructions call for milk & eggs to be added but you can easily substitute with a non dairy milk & egg replacement (applesauce, coconut oil, flax seed egg, etc). Or you can do like I did - just add pop to the mix and you're done! I was very skeptical about this hack but I used club soda and my cupcakes turned out amazing!! The Whipped frostings are also vegan!! Bought buttercream and chocolate for these two cake mixes ☺️

emberattack Yep just pop!!! Just one can per box of mix! (Or I used 1 1/2 cups since I didn't have individual cans) I used club soda to avoid any sort of flavour contamination, plus it's unsweetened and I didn't want the cupcakes to be overly sweet or anything. But apparently you can use any pop!! My sister has used coca cola in chocolate and vanilla cakes and says you can't taste the cola flavour at all. But I also read that certain pops with certain cakes enhance the flavour... Ie root beer with vanilla cake, cream soda with strawberry cake, etc ☺️1 likeReply

emberattack Yeah they tasted great! No weird flavour at all! And I'm 99% sure all the flavours of the Betty Crocker cake mixes themselves are vegan so you could do any flavour! Highly recommend the Cherry Chip one though, sooo good. The chocolate fudge ones turned out suuuuper chocolatey and moist ☺️1 likeReply
