The Valencian Government has fined Santuario Compasion Animal 9,000 euros. In the midst of the pandemic, Santuario Compasión Animal spent days attempting to save the lives of a calf and other animals that were located at a school farm. This farm had been closed due to the State of Health Alarm imposed in response to the Coronavirus. The animals were suffering from a shortage of food, resulting in the unfortunate deaths of several of them in recent days. Additionally, others remain in critical condition, requiring urgent attention.
They just wanted to help and now Government is taking away their money, and for months, they won't be able to take animals to the veterinarian.
The animals at the Sanctuary should be considered "companion animals" since they will never be used for consumption. However, the Generalitat treats them as "production animals" in order to enforce livestock laws.
They take advantage of the legal loophole to destroy the Sanctuary.
In September, they received the fine. They met with them and discussed all the issues. They asked them to file an appeal because they were right on all points.
Nevertheless, they proceeded anyway and will deduct 9,000 euros from the sanctuary. Since they can't afford to pay it, they will seize their accounts.
During the next inspection, the fine will be 60,000 euros.
They want to ruin the Sanctuary because they are not a farm as they would like them to be.
They are against the idea of a pig or a cow having rights and living as a companion animal. And they won't stop until they destroy this project.
Help us stop this attack on a sanctuary. They take advantage of the legal loophole to interpret the law as it suits them and make Santuario Compasión Animal disappear
