I’m so happy one of the world’s largest chocolatiers has come out with a vegan chocolate bar. Even if it’s for financial gain, I’m happy. Hopefully they will realize there’s more money to be made by selling more varieties of vegan chocolate.

Now, if only the price of this chocolate bar were comparable to its dairy counterpart.

I bought this at Rexall when it was on sale. I refuse to pay the unreasonable regular price.

I’m not a big eater of chocolate, so I wouldn’t know good tasting chocolate from bad tasting chocolate. With this chocolate bar, it tastes exactly as it should … like chocolate. I thought the light brown colour was a little strange, but I didn’t care because it didn’t affect the taste. I don’t think anyone would know dairy (milk and/or butter) is not an ingredient in this bar unless they were told.

On the back of the wrapper, Cadbury claims to have sustainable cocoa sourcing, by encouraging responsible farming, fighting deforestation and supporting cocoa farming communities. I have no idea how true it is or if it’s just simply marketing. But as an extremely large consumer of cocoa, I hope their claim is completely truthful.

I would be more than happy to buy this again, but at a reasonable price.

whatacuriousnotion Chocolate turns white like that when it has been in unstable temperatures, changing temperatures too quickly. 2 likesReply
