Review of Prince Katsu Hello Kitty Spicy Noodle Soup - A-sha by kyu

An unexpected but not unwelcome #lazyvegan collaboration: a very chicken-y soup noodle that’s astoundingly animal-free (aside from the kitty herself!) The broth was meaty enough that I had to double-check A-sha’s website to confirm its vegan status. Unfortunately, it was also missing the promised heat — not spicy at all. There was something else perplexing in the flavor: over the course of my meal, I couldn’t help but continually re-check the ingredients for cilantro. It isn’t listed, but I’m rather sensitive to that particular herb and could’ve sworn there was a hint of it somewhere. Overall, rather mediocre, even with the cute branding — the noodles had the characteristic toothsome chew that I’ve come to expect from this brand, but the flavor was a miss for me. It also contains palm oil (supposedly responsibly sourced, but I’d rather not partake.)
