I never have much luck making raw almond butter but they're always so much less expensive than roasted I thought I would give it another try. I soaked the almonds in water ahead of time. It did turn out better. Hopefully being soaked in water won't make them turn faster. Anyone have any tips for making raw almond butter? bought from the bulk bins with a reusable bag, so sustainable packaging! #nuts

lol1409 Please don't soak them! 😶 That is a recipe for disaster (and sludge). Same as PB otherwise - roast (optional), grind, leave it bone dry. 4 likesReply
unejanie it's too late! the batch in the foto was soaked. it came out better but raw almonds don't release oil like toasted almonds. they do taste more almondy though. 2 likesReply
unejanie as suspected, it turned with all the water in it. i never have luck with raw almonds. even when i roast them. 1 likeReply

unejanie i tried raw because they are half the price. i stocked up on cashews today because they were in sale. next time I will make a blend. 😁1 likeReply

unejanie i did roast the raw almond butter that was turning so now i have roasted almond butter patties. i hate wasting food. 1 likeReply
