Got this cos they ran out of the brown sugar soy milk which I was really keen to try. Oolong tea is a bit bitter but was complemented with the yummy lychee flavor and aloe vera pieces - yum 😋 so nice they are used to people using our own tumblers, and they sell reusable tumblers too. Would be great if these tumblers can be the default option rather than plastic cups. The staff were pretty friendly too though they were really busy. Do note they don’t take cash, you can use Ezlink, Nets, PayLah! etc. I was quite disappointed however by the lack of publicity and knowledge of this soy milk option, one of the staff didn’t know about it, I had to ask again only to be told later it was sold out. I really hope there can be more dairy-free options using milk alternatives at all bubble tea outlets, rather than just having to settle for the juice/tea options, especially since so many Asians are lactose intolerant. If I were Gong Cha I would publicise this promotion on social media and clearly indicate which outlets it’s available at. I really hope this soy milk option is here to stay and that Gong Cha can make any of the regular drinks dairy-free by substituting with plant-based milk. Which is what Platypus cafe at NUS does.
