This massive Costco bag is the right size for a chia lover like myself! Chia deserves some #veganeasychallenge love because it’s marvelously low effort — add liquid, stir to prevent clumps, and let it do its thing. The seeds are even good unhydrated, if you enjoy crunchy textures.
I usually add them to my overnight oats to achieve the perfect thickened consistency; the gel is also a fantastic egg replacer, although I personally prefer flaxseed for baked goods. Chia provided extra binding in my banana pancakes this morning! I love a good chia pudding, too, but lately I’ve also started to wonder whether the seeds might work in a savory dish. With 3lbs in my pantry, I’m sure I’ll be able to experiment plenty.

Chia seeds are one of the best egg substitutes!! I use 1 soup spoon of chia + 1 soup spoon of water=1egg
I leave it soaking for 10 min before using in my recipes

I add chia seeds to smoothies, salads, fruit and oatmeal for added fiber and protein.  They turn into little caviar balls when they are exposed to moisture. Otherwise, they are teeny tiny and crunchy.

My other breakfast superfood mix-in! I usually use these for making chia seed pudding. I’ve heard they aren’t as efficiently good for you if they’re not ground up? So I try to chew extra well when eating them. Like hemp hearts, they add protein and omega-3s, plus fiber.

Chia seeds are a great substitute for eggs in baking. They taste great as a pudding, jam or made into a fresca. They’re always in my pantry.
