Salvata 0%These are my favorite buns I’ve tried so far! The tofu filling is savory and slightly spiced. There’s a decent amount of filling too. They are easy to cook and the bread gets so soft. Wish this came in a pack of 8 instead of 6!

these are honestly so good and i wish i bought more- probably one of the best frozen buns i’ve bought, which is great bc a lot of the restaurants near me don’t have vegan bao
the outside is super fluffy and the perfect amount of sweetness (not like a gross amount obviously), and the filling is super flavorful! the only thing i regret is not buying more, so happy i found these at my local ranch 99 and hope they stick around for a long time

These buns are so soft and the tofu filling is flavorful and delicious! They are peppery with a slight heat and sweetness. Never would have expected to find a vegan Mapo tofu bun so very thankful to @ploopy !

I bought these bao on @ploopy’s recommendation, and @beckyyy’s recent rave review was the gentle push I needed to dig them out of my freezer! I heated a couple in my rice cooker per the steaming instructions. In my experience, the cook time was on the high end of the range (15 minutes, give or take,) as the bread became soft and springy, but the center was still slightly #frozen before then. They’re a cute size — I can hold 2 in my hand — that works well for a snack or light side dish. The tofu-and-soy-protein filling had a nice chewiness and was slightly saucy. Despite being modeled on mapo #tofu, the buns weren’t really spicy — more sweet and peppery than anything else. They were delightful and delicious, if a bit sweeter than expected, and I’ll happily join my abillion friends in recommending them! The last photo is “the wedge,” for anyone curious about the ratio of bread to filling.
