I have been vegan since 2011 and have been vegetarian my entire life. Going vegan was the best decision I've ever made and the easiest. One of the things I've learned over the last year is that standing up for those who can't speak is our obligation as vegans. When something isn't right, it's our obligation to say something because they can not. Even if that means backlash. The animals rely on our voices.

Forming bonds with animals, rescuing them, and photographing them has added such great value to my life. I started working with sanctuaries 10 years ago and have met and worked with so many amazing animals. Each have given me so many lasting memories.

Over the last year, I've volunteered at a few great sanctuaries in Ohio as well as photographed residents at Barn Sanctuary and Foreverland. These sweet souls motivate me every single day. #veganproud
