Throwback to a year ago 💚

Azahara enjoying the frozen figs that Marta (@Martate) brings her 🤩🤩🤩

Azahara is a young mare who has melanomas in the anogenital area. He has so many that, in his previous life, he was several times on the verge of death. Like so many horses, she was kept in a box almost every day and she barely went out. She had problems because her melanomas blocked the expulsion of feces and by not receiving the care she needed she had constant colic. Her veterinarian was the same one that cares for the horses in the sanctuary and seeing that she would die at any moment in those living conditions, she asked us to rescue her.

And that's how Azahara came to Fundación Santuario Vegan.

She has been here for 2 years and receives daily attention and care. And thanks to that she can now eat frozen figs when it's cold, have a family of mares and donkeys and the possibility of a much longer life than she expected if we hadn't rescued him.

Azahara disfrutando de los higos helados que le trae Marta (@Martate) 🤩🤩🤩

Azahara es una yegua joven que tiene melanomas en la zona anogenital. Tiene tantos que, en su vida anterior, estuvo varias veces al borde de la muerte. Como tantos caballos, la tenían en un box casi todos los días y apenas salía. Ella tenía problemas porque los melanomas le bloqueaban la expulsión de las heces y al no recibir la atención que necesitaba tenía cólicos constantes. Su veterinaria era la misma que atiende a los caballos del santuario y al ver que en cualquier momento moriría en esas condiciones de vida, nos pidió que la rescatásemos.

Y así fue como Azahara vino a Fundación Santuario Vegan.

Lleva 2 años aquí y recibe atención y cuidados diarios. Y gracias a eso ahora puede comer higos helados cuando hace frío, tener una familia de yeguas y burritas y la posibilidad de una vida mucho más larga de la que le esperaba si no l hubiésemos rescatado.
