My experience began when I was four or five (maybe even earlier but, I have no memory of it).
When I was a child I lived next door to a butcher shop that, in those days, had the slaughterhouse in the back. I would see the calves, lambs and kids unloaded from the trucks and I would meet their frightened eyes. I could hear their heartbreaking wails and I was sad, helpless and angry.
I remember that anger....
I prayed that all that pain would stop and that the animals could live free but, it never happened.
When I saw how Massimo of the Capraliberatutti Sanctuary takes care of his "life companions", allowing them to live free, I thought that maybe my child prayers had been heard and some of that anger slipped away.
I would love to win the #WeeklyWins prize to thank #santuariocapraliberatutti for having turned my anger into concrete hope for a better future🌈.
PS the author of this beautiful drawing is my sweet niece Valentina ❤️
