I don’t understand why Vegan dishes are so costly-especially at Vegan only restaurants. This has been my experience in Los Angeles & Las Vegas.

@[lovespigs](user-626eea42f4de917434492a73) Yeah, I know what you mean. My best guess is because meat is highly subsidized by the US government so it can be bought and sold at a cheaper price. Also, I think the supply and demand is mismatched. There's a lower supply of vegan dishes and restaurants than there is demand, do businesses will charge more knowing vegans will pay for a high quality meal at a restaurant because they're hard to find. Once supply catches up, hopefully prices will lower over time.

These were pretty good but disappointing considering the high price. The pancakes were small and thin and the crushed walnuts and banana were an additional $2. It would have been worth the price if the pancakes were more substantial or there were more of them. The taste was good though! The Butcher's Daughter is a vegetarian restaurant with multiple vegan options. However, there are upcharges for plant-based milks and substitution for tofu scramble (in place of eggs.)
