Areeq

Amardeen rolls- a traditional Syrian candy. Really unique, they're literally rolled up bits of apricot paste. Not too sweet and quite low in calories- 3 pieces have 25cal.

Vegan: only contain apricots, sugar, glucose, olive oil and sulfur dioxide as preservative. I love dried apricots, other apricot snacks and anything apricot flavoured, so as a fan of apricot, I quite like these, they're very unique.

The apricot taste is not very strong but is there and they're not too sweet, which I quite enjoy. Chewy texture, I sometimes suck on them and they do melt (even though they're soft) and I sometimes chew them. First time trying them, I quite liked them! $5.50 (AUD) for 350g, great value, too.

Tried to get a good photo of the packaging for info but the packet is a bit damaged and faded on the outside, so that's the best I could get! From what I read and seeing the texture (they're quite soft), they're best kept in the fridge, especially in warmer months. I did find them refrigerated when I bought them, too.

As I'm always on the lookout for vegan candies and sweets, I had to try these and don't regret it at all. Plus, I love trying out food from different cultures, luckily this is so easy to do in Sydney, as we're a melting pot of cultures, so I'm lucky.

Would recommend! #veganisnotscary
